Annoyed by the virus? Find out the way.
Also missing from the folder option, not showing hidden files or not being able to access any specific system folder or not being able to open the registry editor or system configuration utility is a very common trick of these viruses. Many people use many antiviruses, but sometimes they can't solve this problem. Many do not even understand when the virus entered.
If you want to keep your PC free from viruses transmitted by pen drive, follow the rules below
- If you go to the property of the drive and turn off the Auto Ran of that drive, it does not stop completely. As a result, go to Start> Settings> Control panel> Administrative tools> Services to turn off Windows AutoRun service completely. Find Shell Hardware Detection from the list and go to its properties by double-clicking on it. There, first, select Disabled from the list of Startup type combo box. Then click the Stop button and click Ok. As a result, the Windows Autorun service will be completely shut down. You don't have to do this again, and again, you just have to do it once.
- If you are not sure if there is a virus inside a pen drive before inserting it into the PC, then never go to My Computer and open it by double-clicking. To open it Start> Programs> Go to Accessories and open Windows Explorer. See, there is a list on the left and a list on the right. Such a list on the left is called a tree-view list. A single click on My Computer in the tree view list will expand. In this way, the folder or drive that will be clicked on in the tree view list will be opened at the bottom of the folder/drive, and both the files and folders inside it will be opened in the list on the right. In the case of a pen drive, you must use the tree-view list to open the folder. And use the list on the right to open the file. Double-clicking on any folder from the list on the right will not open the folder by mistake. If there is a virus in that folder, it will auto-attack your PC.
- After inserting the pen drive in the PC, first, go to Explorer and check it with antivirus by right-clicking on the pen drive from the tree view list. Even if no virus is detected by antivirus, don't worry. Access the pen drive as per the rules mentioned above. (If you wish, you can create an Explorer shortcut on the desktop)
- If a friend only has to copy a file/folder to the pen drive, then after inserting his pen drive, right-click on that file/folder and send it to the pen drive through the menu. Do not open the pen drive unless necessary.
